Bridgnorth Town Council are looking for a motivated Environmental Operations Manager to lead a grounds maintenance team of six, ensuring our parks, landscaped areas, and public spaces are safe, attractive, and maintained to the highest standards.
The Council is looking for someone who can demonstrate experience in providing clear, supportive, and effective line management to develop and motivate teams, with a clear focus on performance and delivery.
This role combines team leadership, operational oversight, environmental stewardship and community engagement. You will supervise staff; champion biodiversity, environmental sustainability, and climate initiatives; oversee machinery, vehicles, and equipment for safe and efficient use; lead litter reduction and community engagement projects; and ensure health, safety, and compliance standards are met.
As part of the Town Council team, you will work with councillors, community groups, volunteers, and external partners to engage the local community in caring for the town’s green spaces.
You will have
* Experience supervising grounds maintenance or environmental teams.
* Knowledge of biodiversity, sustainability, and ecological management.
* Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
* Understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
* Relevant qualifications and a UK driving licence.
