In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll oversee day-to-day operations in the SOTOS department, ensuring production targets are met on time, on cost and to exacting standards. You’ll manage a skilled team, lead daily Comm Zone meetings, apply lean methodologies, and act as a role model for excellence, quality and safety. BENEFITS * Discretionary half-year bonus * 25 days holiday 8 Bank Holidays Holiday Purchase Scheme * Two weeks paid leave for Reservists to attend yearly training/camp * Pension * Life cover – 3x base salary * BHSF Cash Healthcare Plan WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING * Lead daily team communications, delegate tasks, and ensure completion of production activities * Monitor and drive performance through KPIs, Comm Zone meetings and visual reporting * Oversee task execution and final product checks, ensuring quality and compliance * Apply lean principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise processes * Act as a role model for safety and continuous improvement, influencing team behaviours * Partner with Engineering, Logistics, and Procurement teams to ensure alignment across operations * Manage operator skills and training development within the team * Support customer visits and readiness reviews with confidence and professionalism * Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, work bookings and traceability records WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR * A proven leader with at least 5 years’ experience in team leadership within manufacturing * Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and techniques (5S, Kaizen, 8D, etc.) * Experienced in managing production against deadlines and budgets in a high-standards environment * Confident communicator with the ability to influence, delegate, and drive accountability * Comfortable with MS Office applications, including Excel at an intermediate level * Able to navigate between production and engineering environments with credibility and calm WHAT DO WE DO AT NP AEROSPACE?
