The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is now available to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join the team supporting the EIMEA Region, reporting into the Financial Accounting Senior Manager (EIMEA). Based in London, the role is for an Assistant Accountant to be involved in day to day team activities for the annual financial audit.


Key responsibilities:

1. Assisting in the preparation of work in progress files for calculations for the Arup Group consolidated financial statements
2. Preparation of annual financial statements, including the financial statement note disclosures in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) or local GAAP where applicable
3. Be one of the main contacts for the audit and reply to audit requests
4. Work closely with other departments that impact or contribute to the timely and accurate production of financial statements, to review and analyse supporting schedules and seek ways to improve current reporting efficiency and accuracy
5. Producing and recording adjustment journals in the accounting system
6. Assisting the team with ad-hoc duties.

7. Part qualified or newly qualified accountant
8. Proactive positive attitude
9. Able to work well on own and as part of a team
10. Has the ability to work under pressure and to meet strict reporting deadlines
11. Be computer literate and demonstrates strong knowledge of excel, JDE experience is useful but not essential
12. Have excellent attention to detail and deliver results to a high degree of accuracy
13. Be able to use their initiative
14. Have strong organisational skills
