Overview
Field Debt Resolution Officer (B2B Commercial Debts) - Birmingham and surrounding areas – Join Yu Smart in a rapidly growing Field Debt Management function. This is a field-based role focusing on resolving debt by visiting commercial customers on-site, delivering professional, empathetic, face-to-face solutions to help customers become debt free as quickly and sustainably as possible.
Location: Birmingham (covering Midlands; ideal candidate residing in Leicester). Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Reports to: The Field Debt Leaders (FDLs).
Compensation: £35,000 per year, with an additional £10,000 Quality bonus and £4,500 car allowance.
Location note: Field-based. This role may involve travel and stays away from home when required.

Responsibilities
* Conduct face-to-face visits to B2B customer sites to recover debt and enable agreed meter installations.
* Train, coach, and mentor engineers to be confident and professional B2B debt operatives.
* Work independently or lead and support other team members on Warrant visits while ensuring safety, professionalism, and compliance at all times.
* Collaborate with support teams to drive improvements in field operations and customer outcomes.
* Provide accurate reporting and objective feedback to help evolve processes.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards; model operational excellence.
* Handle and resolve (or escalate) customer disputes effectively in line with company values.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Proven experience in field debt resolution with a minimum of 12 months in any industry or discipline.
* Professional demeanor with strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent rapport-building, especially face-to-face.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities; composed and professional in challenging situations.
* Proactive, assertive, and persuasive with a problem-solving mindset and adaptability to change.
* Competent in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook).
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel and stay away from home when required.
