Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Wellbeing Support Officer to join a specialist SEMH provision in Corby. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to helping students overcome emotional barriers, build resilience, and re-engage positively with education.
About the Role:In this role, you will provide consistent, structured, and empathetic support to young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will work closely with staff to promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and overall wellbeing throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support focused on mental health and wellbeing
* Support students in developing coping strategies and emotional regulation skills
* Help promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
* Contribute to a safe, calm, and supportive environment
* Assist in implementing personalised support and wellbeing plans
* Use de-escalation and restorative approaches when needed
* Work collaboratively with pastoral and teaching teams
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or mental health needs
* A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
* Strong relationship-building and communication skills
* Resilience and confidence when working in challenging situations
* A genuine passion for supporting young people's emotional wellbeing
