As a Workshop Technician (Machinist), you will undertake a Level 3 Apprenticeship working alongside the Engineering team at Johnson Matthey’s technology centre.
You will learn to manufacture mechanical parts and assemblies, read drawings, and master the use of milling machines, lathes, grinders, fabrication equipment, and welders.
You will attend college on a day-release basis, fulfilling all administrative requirements of your Level 3 apprenticeship. The apprenticeship lasts approximately 42 months.

Your Responsibilities
* Working to Engineering Drawings
* Using precision measuring equipment
* Parts Machining – milling, lathe, CNC, manual, grinding
* Fabrication – aluminium profile systems, sheet metal, welding
* Performing other duties within your skills and abilities as instructed
* Adhering to legal and site Health & Safety requirements
Minimum Requirements
* Enrolment on a Mechanical Apprenticeship Course
* Interest in engineering and mechanical things (Desirable)
* Exposure to engineering drawings (Desirable)
* Proficiency in Word and Excel (Desirable)
* A levels or equivalent in maths and science (Desirable)
* Practical skills in Engineering (Desirable)
