Technical Sales / Account Manager

Hastings | Full Time – 38 hours per week

£30,000–£40,000 + Commission/Bonus


Are you a driven sales professional with experience in manufacturing, precision engineering, or a machining/production environment? Do you thrive on building strong customer relationships while identifying and securing new business opportunities?


We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Technical Sales Account Manager to manage and develop existing accounts, win new business, and act as the key link between customers and our precision engineering production teams.

This role would suit someone with an engineering background—whether through qualifications or hands-on production experience—combined with a proven track record in sales or account management. A strong technical mindset and the ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into practical manufacturing solutions are essential.


The Role

* Manage, retain, and grow existing customer accounts within precision engineering sectors
* Proactively identify, target, and secure new business opportunities
* Prepare, present, and follow up on quotations, negotiating and closing orders
* Interpret technical drawings and customer specifications to support accurate quoting
* Liaise closely with production, planning, and quality teams to ensure successful project delivery
* Maintain accurate CRM records and contribute to sales forecasting and reporting
* Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities


What We’re Looking For

* Experience in sales or account management within manufacturing, machining, or engineering
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings and machining processes (e.g., CNC, turning, milling)
* Strong commercial awareness with confident negotiation and closing skills
* Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
* Highly organised, self-motivated, and target-driven
* Good IT skills, including CRM systems
