As Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
Duties
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
* Assist in menu planning and recipe development, focusing on seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes.
* Ensure all food is prepared according to established recipes and standards for quality and presentation.
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety regulations.
* Train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety practices.
* Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
* Participate in the cooking and preparation of meals as required, demonstrating culinary expertise.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
* Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management.
* Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent culinary skills with a passion for cooking and food preparation.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
* Previous experience in food production and serving is highly desirable.
