The Role
* Be a qualified member of the Digital Surfacing team to produce world-class surfaces from concept to production within an automotive design studio environment.
* Collaborate with cross-functional design teams to realize the design intent.
* Assemble, review, and maintain master surface files with variants, working with studio engineers to ensure the latest CAS and engineering data are available for review.
* Report progress and issues to the surfacing lead to ensure timely delivery of surfaces, including reviews and sign-offs with stakeholders.
* Work seamlessly between Alias Sub-D and Alias NURBS workflows to develop surfaces rapidly to design freeze gateways.
Duties/Responsibilities
* Create digital surfaces from sketches to A-Class surfaces.
* Work closely with the Digital Surfacing Lead on core projects.
* Coordinate with the CAS Lead throughout the project lifecycle within the design studio.
* Ensure the timely development and delivery of assigned surfaces.
* Translate design sketches into 3D models, capturing the design intent.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to respect hardpoints and boundary conditions during surface development.
* Utilize Sub-D and NURBS surfacing techniques to develop surfaces efficiently.
* Maintain the latest release and work-in-progress master files for the cross-functional teams.
* Ensure all surfaces meet quality standards and address non-compliances.
* Stay updated on industry trends, software, and processes to enhance team capabilities.

Candidate Experience
* Automotive design degree or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a CAS modeller.
* Knowledge of surface development and poly-modeling techniques.
* Experience working in a team to deliver surfaces successfully.
* Ability to meet deadlines and schedules.
* Proficiency in Alias Surfacing and Alias Sub-D software.
