The role is Part-time with a minimum of 100 hours guaranteed over the year, to complement our Full time staff resource. In addition to bringing your particular skills to the job, you should possess a passion for exceptional customer service delivery. You should either be a current student or be intending to become a student in the Glasgow area for the upcoming academic year. You will work within the Gym and will be responsible for the daily function of this area and for creating a welcoming and engaging environment. You will be expected to interact with members, talking to them about their session and ensuring they know support is always on hand. You will deliver group fitness classes and develop personalised fitness programmes that focus across all our activities and that provide variety for the customer. You will be expected to make regular contact with them, reviewing their progress and helping them to maintain their motivation. You should be proactive approaching members, working with them to get the best from that day’s session both on an individual or group basis. You will also contribute to our referral programmes, helping to rehabilitate and encourage those who are returning to exercise and those who require support to continue in the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. Brief Outline of Job: The position of Health & Fitness Coach Assignment requires excellent communication skills, teamwork and providing first class customer service. You will be responsible, whilst on shift, for the effective and efficient day to day delivery of a high-quality service within the fitness facilities of Strathclyde Sport. The role will involve ensuring a safe and inviting environment for members to exercise in along with completing one to one orientations, personalised programmes, and gym based, small group fitness training. Being part of a team the post reports to the Health & Fitness Co-Ordinator and is required to support the development and delivery of services to enhance the student and staff experience and positively impact on the University’s reputation. Working hours will be a minimum of 100 hours guaranteed over the year taking into consideration the operational needs of Strathclyde Sport between the following hours: Monday – Friday: 07.00 – 22.15 Saturday and Sunday: 09.00 – 18.15
