Overview
As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you will play a vital role in community safety by ensuring children and other members of the community safely cross the road at a designated point between specified times.
Hours and Location
Hours are mainly 08:15am to 09:10am and 2:50pm to 3:25pm. Current permanent posts available are: Limekilns – Limekilns Primary School.
Salary and Benefits

* Scottish Local Government Living Wage of £13.18 per hour for this post, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.

The Person / Requirements
* No formal qualifications are necessary; the ability to cope in all weather conditions, a good road sense, knowledge of the Highway Code/Green Cross Code, and previous experience of working with children would be desirable.
* Essential: attend the patrol point daily at school opening and closing times in all weather conditions, including attending at short notice in the event of unscheduled school closures.
* Training in safe crossing procedures is provided.
* You will be required to complete an annual Occupational Health Surveillance Questionnaire and attend Occupational Health Assessments as necessary.
* Before confirming your appointment to the post, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Membership for working with Children, through Disclosure Scotland.
* You will be required to attend an Induction Training Day before starting in post.
