Our engineering clients based close to Winchester have an exciting opportunity for a Project Lead to join their growing team. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Engineer to lead and manage Engineering projects from concept through to completion. This role requires strong project ownership, technical acumen, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards Duties & Responsibilities: Project Management: Lead manufacturing projects from initial concept through design, development, tooling, production, and delivery phases. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including milestones, budgets, in line with resource allocation plan. Budget & Cost Control: Prepare and manage project budgets, track costs throughout the project lifecycle, and ensure financial targets are met. Compile costings using standard Excel-based models and update them as the project evolves. Timescale & Delivery: Work to tight, customer-driven deadlines using APQP-based systems and internal stage-gate processes. Ensure timely completion of all engineering deliverables and production readiness. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with relevant safety standards and internal quality procedures. Support risk assessments, FMEA reviews, and implement corrective actions where necessary. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with Design, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Sales teams to ensure alignment and smooth project execution. Work directly with suppliers to develop tooling and manufacturing processes. Documentation & Reporting: Ensure all documentation complies with document control procedures. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve manufacturing efficiency. Technical Support: Provide engineering support to Product Management and Sales teams, including participation in customer meetings and technical reviews. Required Skills & experience: Proven experience in managing manufacturing or engineering projects. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages. Knowledge of ERP systems PRINCE2/APM PMQ desirable Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc/BEng or equivalent). Working hours: Monday Thursday 07:30am 4:45pm Friday 07:30am 12midday
