Join Our Team as a Support Worker
Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
Salary: £23,985 per annum (£12.30 per hour) plus benefits
Hours: 7.00 am – 3.00 pm, 8.00 am – 4.00 pm, 1:00 pm– 9.00 pm, 2:00 pm– 10:00 pm (Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis)
Contract: Full time, Permanent

Essential Criteria
To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate exposure to two of the following areas of expertise:
* Visual impairment
* High complex physical health needs
* Autism, mental health, and learning disabilities

We're looking for individuals to join our team who can stay calm under pressure, who are enthusiastic, proactive, and capable of handling challenging behaviors. A manual UK driving license and comfort with driving alternative vehicles are desirable.
What Will You Be Doing?
As a Support Worker, you'll be more than just providing support – you'll be a key part of someone's journey towards living their best life. Your responsibilities include:
* Daily Care & Support: Assisting with personal care, meal preparation, medication, and daily tasks.
* Building Relationships: Getting to know the individuals you support, understanding their needs, and helping them live independently.
* Empowering Independence: Supporting personal goals and encouraging creative exploration.
* Social Engagement: Supporting participation in activities, social events, and hobbies.
* Respect & Dignity: Treating individuals and their families with respect, dignity, and equality.
Who You Will Be Supporting
At Waterside House, we support 14 individuals with diverse disabilities, including visual impairment, autism, physical disabilities, mental health, and learning disabilities. Here are some of their interests:
* John*: Music lover, has a radio show, enjoys talking about music and weather.
* Jan*: Football fan, ukulele player, former Salvation Army band member.
* Jane*: Loves Reiki, art, animals, Coldplay, and pamper days.
* Joe*: Social, music enthusiast, and lyricist, names her wheelchair Katy Perry.
* Josh*: Independent, history enthusiast, enjoys swimming.
* Jake*: Sociable, volunteer, gym enthusiast, represented SeeAbility at Buckingham Palace.
* Jon*: Independent wheelchair user, enjoys cinema, meeting friends, skydiving.
