Job Summary

At Barts Health, we provide a comprehensive range of clinical care to patients with gynaecological cancer. The academic activity is undertaken at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health, Queen Mary University of London. The successful applicant will play an integral role as part of the gynaecological oncology clinical academic Women's Precision Prevention (WPP) team working at the Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention & Early Diagnosis (CCSPED), Wolfson Institute of Population Health, Charterhouse Square, London.
The post holder will play an important role in the clinical multi-disciplinary team (which includes 6 consultants, 3 subspecialty fellows, 6 SHOs and clinical nurse specialists) who manage patients with Gynaecological cancer. The person will receive exposure to management of high-risk/ familial gynaecological cancer patients at the Barts Womens Precision Prevention Clinic.

Main duties of the job
The duties of the post outlined are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service.
The post holder will be expected to be actively involved in research projects working closely with the academic team at QMUL. This will include recruitment to clinical trials and participation and training in clinical research. Clinical duties include management of women at increased risk of gynaecological cancer, care of women under the women's precision prevention clinic, contribution to recruitment to clinical trials, provision of peri-operative care, admissions and discharge procedures, checking of results and communicating with other medical staff and General Practitioners. involvement in MDT functioning and all aspects of patient care. Additionally the postholder will undertake quality improvement projects and participate in teaching activities available in department. There will be a 1:7 weekend daytime on call commitment. The post holder will need to contribute to prospective cover for clinical duties of colleagues on leave.
