Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from the Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function – Barratt Partnerships.
Responsibilities
* Fleet Strategy & Planning
o Develop and implement fleet policies, procedures, and long‑term strategies aligned with business objectives.
o Forecast fleet requirements and manage lifecycle planning for company cars.
o Stay up to date with legislation changes and communicate the impacts to the business.
* Procurement & Vendor Management
o Negotiate with suppliers for vehicle acquisition, leasing, and repair contracts.
o Ensure cost optimisation and quality standards in supplier relationships.
* Compliance & Risk Management
o Ensure adherence to legal, environmental, and safety regulations across the entire fleet.
o Monitor and enforce the Car policy.
o Maintain Driving Licence and Grey Fleet compliance.
o Manage insurance, licensing, and documentation for all vehicles.
* Operational Management
o Oversee maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections to minimise downtime.
* Budget & Cost Control
o Prepare and manage fleet budgets, monitor expenses, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
o Analyse total cost of ownership and recommend improvements.
* Sustainability & Innovation
o Drive initiatives for reducing carbon footprint, including EV adoption and fuel efficiency programmes.
o Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
* Team Leadership
o Lead and develop fleet management teams across regions.
o Provide training and guidance on compliance, safety, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in fleet management at a senior or group level.
* Strong knowledge of legislation, vehicle procurement, maintenance, and compliance regulations.
* Vehicle engineering and repair experience.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, budgeting, and analytical skills.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Copilot) and fleet software.
* Familiarity with sustainability practices.
* Leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
