The Defence Safety Authority (DSA) provides independent assurance direct to the Secretary of State that the law is complied with and their policy on safety in Defence is being promoted and implemented whilst Defence activities are conducted.
The Operating Assurance Group (OAG) assures, on behalf of Director MAA, the operation of all Air Systems registered as UK Military Aircraft and provides the main delivery arm of the MAA’s Assurance activity. This highly collaborative role will offer you the opportunity to work within the OAG across the full breadth of our activity and at the heart of a team focussed on analysis, safety risk identification, and assurance of activity in the Defence Air Environment.
You will support the delivery of UK military capability through assuring and coaching the standards required from the defence air environment Continuing Airworthiness Management Organizations (CAMO) and Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMO). You will engage widely with airworthiness professionals (all specialisations) and both civilian and military CAMOs and AMOs throughout the UK and some overseas locations. The Continuing Airworthiness Branch (CAW) is responsible for managing Military CAMO approvals and the Maintenance Approved Organization Schemes (MAOS) in accordance with the standards detailed in the MAA Regulatory Publications (MRP). As one of the CAw lead auditors you will support the management of approvals and the collection and assessment of evidence (through audit, oversight and surveillance) to deliver a regulator assessment of organizations fitness to hold an approval. As required, you and your team will contribute to the wider development and assurance of Military Air Safety.
