Previs - Shot Creator/Animator (UK Based) THE THIRD FLOOR is the world’s leading visualization company with offices in Los Angeles and London, working on high-profile projects globally. Since 2004, the studio has specialized in creating computer-animated blueprints, known as “previsualizations”. We are a creative, artist-founded company with a small studio culture, recognized with multiple Emmy and VES awards. Recent projects include Avatar: The Way of Water, House of the Dragon, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, For All Mankind, Masters of the Air, among others.
Position: Previs Shot Creator/Animator
This is a project-based, full-time, remote position within the UK.
Responsibilities Create shot sequences from storyboards or scripts to support storytelling
Maintain a strong sense of composition, color, and timing
Establish character blocking, camera positioning, and animate camera movements
Create realistic character animations adhering to the 12 principles of animation
Animate creatures, props, and vehicles
Use cinematic language and camera effects like motion blur and depth of field to create realism
Refine mocap animations for clarity and impact
Pay attention to detail and technical specifications for each project
Ensure high quality and efficiency in output
Understand shot continuity to guide creation
Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors
Adapt quickly to changes and feedback
Essential Skills Autodesk Maya
Adobe After Effects
Autodesk MotionBuilder (a plus)
PFTrack (a plus)
Requirements Submit your resume, demo reel/portfolio link (with password if needed), and a detailed breakdown of your contribution
Your reel should include character and camera animation work
Willingness to travel and work on-site as needed, with major studio clients
