Waste Operative
LOCATION: Spirit Aerosystems Belfast
SHIFT PATTERN: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
PAY RATE: £12.80 per hour
Purpose: Play an integral part in delivering effective recycling and waste services; ensuring receptacles are emptied; recyclables are separated to secure best rebate value; and waste services complement rather than disrupt other business activities. Adherence to safe systems of work and maintenance of excellent housekeeping standards.
Key Responsibilities
Service Provision
* Review & adhere to safe systems of work, policies & procedures
* Adhere to a 'clean as you go' approach
* Wear PPE as directed and maintain in good condition
* Decant/empty waste receptacles as required
* Ensure waste streams are segregated properly
* Moving waste receptacles to ensure provision in areas of need
* Coordinate provision of bins, skips and collections by waste contractors
* Ensure adherence to work schedules
* Ensure waste management does not disrupt client operations
* Operate balers & compactors and other equipment (e.g. for cardboard or plastic)
* Promptly report defects of equipment
* Complete check sheets as required
* Maintain excellent housekeeping of all waste areas (including signage & labelling)
* Support communication & awareness activities as required
* Liaise with Site Waste Manager to deliver customer satisfaction

Skills and Experience
Essential Criteria:
* A full, clean driving licence.
Desired Qualifications:
* Licensed forklift operative (counter balance).
Desired Experience:
* Experience as a waste recycling operative.
* Has worked at manufacturing facility.
Desired Skills:
* Experience within the relevant industry, or a similar environment.
* Time spent in a customer service environment.
* Experience working within a results-orientated environment.

* Confident.

* Willing to undergo training/coaching in line with organisational philosophy.
