ESOL Tutor – Home & School Settings (Bedford Area) Location: Bedford and surrounding areas Hours: School hours (typically Monday–Friday, daytime) Role Type: Part-time / Flexible / Term-time Pay: Competitive rates depending on experience and qualifications About the Role We are seeking dedicated and experienced ESOL Tutors to provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils in home and school settings across the Bedford area. The role involves supporting children and young people whose first language is not English, helping them develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills to improve confidence and educational progress. Tutors will deliver engaging and personalised sessions tailored to each pupil’s language level and learning needs. Responsibilities Deliver engaging ESOL lessons in pupils’ homes or school settings Support pupils in developing English language skills including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and abilities Build positive relationships that encourage confidence and participation Monitor progress and provide session feedback/reports Work collaboratively with schools, parents, and support staff where required Requirements Minimum 2 years of UK teaching or tutoring experience Experience teaching ESOL/EAL learners Strong communication and behaviour management skills Ability to deliver engaging and differentiated learning Relevant teaching, ESOL, TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or related qualification preferred Experience working with children or young people is desirable Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred What We Offer Flexible working during school hours Competitive hourly pay Rewarding and meaningful work supporting young learners Ongoing support and opportunities for development Flexible locations across Bedford and nearby areas Apply Now If you are passionate about supporting pupils with English language development and want flexible daytime work in the Bedford area, we would love to hear from you.
