Opportunity The Business Development Lead for Social Enterprises will work across all three SSI Social Enterprises to identify, develop, and grow business opportunities that support the sustainability and growth of each Social Enterprise. This role focuses on creating sustainable revenue streams through sales and partnerships that support the sustainable growth of each social enterprise and hence impact goal for each enterprise. This role will report directly to the Head of Social Enterprise and will be expected to leverage the existing relationships, credibility and reputation attained within relevant markets to build and grow our customer base. We’re looking for a motivated individual to join our Social Enterprises team to help scale sustainable impact through innovative growth strategies and strong stakeholder engagement. In this role, you’ll drive revenue generation by building meaningful partnerships, executing targeted sales initiatives, and aligning closely with cross-functional teams to deliver results. You’ll play a key part in expanding our social enterprise footprint, leveraging your deep understanding of market dynamics and aligning our products and services with real-world demand. Requirements for Success Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent - Business Administration, Finance, or Related Field A strong relationship builder with the ability to drive sales growth in a social enterprise. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders. Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and pursue growth opportunities. Financial literacy and ability to analyse business performance metrics. Project management skills, including planning, execution, and evaluation. Passion for social impact and commitment to the mission of SSI. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Social Sciences, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years experience in business development, preferably in the social enterprise or not-for-profit sector. Proven track record of revenue generation, creating partnerships, designing and implementing growth strategie. Knowledge of impact measurement and social return on investment (SROI). Experience with digital marketing or e-commerce for social enterprises. Familiarity with government and philanthropic funding landscapes.
