We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic secondary school team in Stafford. This is a highly rewarding role within an environment where no two days are the same. You will be working closely with students who need extra support to engage with their education, helping them overcome barriers to learning, manage behavior, and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored academic and emotional support to students within a secondary school setting.
* Establish firm, fair, and consistent boundaries to create a safe, focused, and productive learning environment.
* Work collaboratively with class teachers to implement positive behavior strategies and keep students engaged.
* Act as a positive role model, mentoring students who may display challenging behaviors or require extra pastoral care.
What We Are Looking For:
The successful candidate will be someone who doesn't phase easily and thrives in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for:
* Experience: Proven experience working with secondary-aged children (11–16) or within a similar youth-support environment.
* Behavior Management: Exceptional behavior management skills, with the ability to de-escalate situations calmly, confidently, and effectively.
* Character: A robust, resilient nature combined with a naturally nurturing and empathetic approach.
* Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to build quick, trusting rapport with disengaged or vulnerable young people.
