Chartered Building Surveyor
Cambridge | £50,000 - £65,000 + car allowance

Carriera is supporting a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in the search for an MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor to join their growing Cambridge office. Working alongside Project Management and Building Services teams, you will deliver a full range of professional Building Surveying services across sectors including education, commercial, retail, industrial and residential.
This client-facing role will involve surveys, dilapidations, contract administration, defect diagnosis, pre-acquisition and technical due diligence, and reinstatement cost assessments. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently to a high professional standard.

* Represent the business professionally and promote the consultancy through client engagement and attendance at networking events
* Deliver projects and professional services on time, with a strong appreciation for profitability and commercial performance
* Maintain a high level of attention to detail and pride in the quality of outputs
* Produce clear, concise and accurate technical reports and specifications
* Prioritise tasks effectively and adapt to changing demands
* Communicate clearly and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders
* Plan, manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary instructions, acting as lead consultant to ensure seamless collaboration and successful project delivery
* Build and maintain long-term client relationships, supporting repeat business and client satisfaction
The Skills and Experience you need to have for this Role:
* Chartered Member of the RICS (MRICS or FRICS)
* Significant experience in a Building Surveying role, ideally across multiple sectors
* Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, construction technology, contract administration, design and specification, inspection, and legal and regulatory compliance
* Full UK driving licence
* Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, NBS and other relevant industry software
* Experience mentoring junior surveyors and supporting their professional development
