Description
Key Responsibilities
* Design modular steel frames using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor).
* Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
* Work closely with fabrication and production teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
* Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to understand and translate project requirements into engineering solutions.
* Conduct structural calculations and basic FEA to validate designs.
* Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, BS5950, BS EN 1090).
* Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Support the integration of other systems into frames, including electrical and HVAC components.
Profile
Essential Skills:
* Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering.
* Proficient in 3D CAD software - SolidWorks preferred.
* Experience designing steel structures or modular frames.
* Knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and welding standards.
* Understanding of structural mechanics and load path design.
* Ability to produce technical documentation to support manufacturing and compliance.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Skills
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 and BS EN 1090 quality standards.
* Experience working within the modular building or container conversion industries.
* Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
* Familiarity with project management tools or systems.
* Site experience or exposure to manufacturing environments.
Job Offer
