Talent Guardian are pleased to be supporting a well-established drinks distribution business in the search for an experienced Field Sales Manager to drive growth across the On Trade sector.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional with experience in drinks, hospitality, or On Trade sales to take ownership of regional growth, develop strong customer relationships, and manage a small team within a fast-moving and competitive market.
The Sales Manager Role
As a Field Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales performance across the On Trade channel, identifying new business opportunities, and developing strategic partnerships. You will also support and lead a small team while working collaboratively with wider sales teams and external partners.
This is a field-based position, requiring regular travel to customer sites across the region.
Sales Manager Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a sales strategy to drive volume growth across On Trade customers.
* Manage and support a small team of Business Development Executives, ensuring strong engagement and performance.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with pubs, bars, restaurants, and hospitality venues.
* Identify and develop new routes to market and partnership opportunities.
* Drive overall sales performance and ensure commercial targets are achieved.
* Negotiate pricing and commercial agreements with customers.
* Provide market insights, competitor activity, and customer feedback to support product development and marketing strategy.
* Work closely with internal teams to coordinate promotions, installations, and quality standards.
* Monitor account performance and ensure all commercial activity is commercially viable.
Sales Manager Skills & Experience Required
* Previous On Trade drinks sales experience or a strong background selling into the hospitality sector.
* Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
* Experience managing or mentoring sales teams is advantageous.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage time effectively and work towards sales targets and deadlines.
* Good administrative and Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel).
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
