About the job you’re considering
OT Framework Cybersecurity Architect - East England - Hybrid
We’re looking for a skilled and forward-thinking OT Framework Cybersecurity Architect to help secure the future of our critical water infrastructure. In this key role, you’ll design and implement a robust cybersecurity framework for our Operational Technology (OT) systems—ensuring resilience, safety, and compliance in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
You’ll lead the development of a secure OT architecture that protects vital systems like SCADA, PLCs, and industrial networks. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll embed cybersecurity into every layer of our infrastructure enhancement programme.
Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including: identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).
Role Responsibilities
* Design and maintain a comprehensive OT cybersecurity architecture aligned with best practices and regulations.
* Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses across OT environments.
* Implement security controls, policies, and procedures to protect against cyber threats.
* Collaborate with engineering and project teams to integrate security into infrastructure upgrades.
* Provide expert consultation on OT cybersecurity to internal teams and stakeholders.
* Develop incident response plans tailored to OT environments.
* Lead security awareness training for OT personnel and partners.
* Monitor emerging threats and technologies relevant to OT cybersecurity.
* Ensure compliance with standards such as NIS Directive, NCSC CAF, ISO 27001.
* Conduct audits and penetration testing of OT systems.
* Advise on secure integration of IIoT and other emerging technologies.
* Track and report on cybersecurity performance metrics.
Skills and Experience
* Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
* 8+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years focused on OT or industrial control systems.
* Deep knowledge of OT security principles, architectures, and technologies.
* Familiarity with industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC) and their security implications.
* Experience securing SCADA systems, PLCs, and industrial networks.
* Understanding of standards like IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443.
* Track record of developing cybersecurity strategies for critical infrastructure.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, or OT-specific credentials) are a plus.
We encourage candidates who do not meet every single requirement to apply, as we value diversity and inclusivity.
Security Clearance
To be successfully appointed, you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks. There are no nationality or residency restrictions, though recent residence outside the UK may require additional checks.

You will be encouraged to maintain a positive work-life balance. Our hybrid working model combines office, client sites, and home working, with flexible arrangements available. We prioritize employee wellbeing and have initiatives such as trained Mental Health Champions and wellbeing apps.
