Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Kilroot & Ballylumford Power Stations) Description: We are hiring for our client, a leading energy provider, to recruit a Mechanical Engineer on a permanent contract to join their Maintenance & Engineering team at both Kilroot and Ballylumford Power Stations in Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete asset care of the plant, supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Role: Technical Leadership: Oversee mechanical engineering activities for Combined Cycle and Open Cycle Gas Turbine Plants, ensuring safe and efficient operation. Function Leadership: Lead and train the mechanical maintenance team, collaborate with other functions and departments, and manage outages and projects. Operations & Maintenance: Plan and execute predictive maintenance, support troubleshooting and resolve complex mechanical faults, manage spare parts, and oversee procurement strategies. Project & Asset Management: Manage mechanical scope during plant upgrades, outages, and major refurbishments, including OEM engagement and contractor performance oversight. Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to safety standards, maintain regulatory records, and contribute to a strong safety culture. The Person: Significant mechanical engineering experience, particularly in Open Cycle and Combined Cycle Power Plants. Detailed knowledge of relevant maintenance philosophies, safety regulations, and technical legislation. Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience (Chartered Engineer preferred).
