National Highways has an exciting opportunity for a Lighting Engineering Team Manager to join our team in the East region. The Engineering Team Manager will oversee activities and resources involved in asset needs identification, leading a team of engineers to prioritize asset needs and develop early scheme solutions for asset renewal and improvement.
Please note that you will be required to drive as part of your role, and you will need to have no more than 3 points on your license to be considered for this position and during employment.
* Provide leadership, direction, and line management for a team of specialist engineers, ensuring timely setting of objectives, performance management reviews, and development plans.
* Manage the utilization and allocation of team resources to ensure appropriate resourcing levels, including providing technical support for Project Managers in scheme design and delivery.
* Be the asset owner for the relevant asset class, ensuring management plans and decisions adhere to policies and standards, provide value for money, and support business objectives.
* Ensure all asset needs are identified, prioritized, and managed according to governance and business goals.
* Act as the Region's focal point, providing technical expertise in asset need identification, renewal, improvement options, and early solutions development.
About you.
* A Chartered Engineer with relevant experience, or an Incorporated Engineer/near Chartered Engineer with extensive experience.
* Civil Engineering Degree, HND with relevant experience, or equivalent.
* Good commercial and financial acumen, including budget management.
* Knowledge of DMRB standards and their application on the highways network.
* Good knowledge of CDM 2015.
