Bridgestone Group are pleased to be working with a major national logistics provider who are seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to support the smooth and efficient running of a busy 24/7 operation based in Nantgarw. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious transport professional to take ownership of day‑to‑day operational performance and people leadership within a fast‑paced, multi‑customer environment
As Transport Supervisor, you’ll work closely with the Transport Manager to ensure the site runs safely, efficiently and to agreed service standards. You’ll lead and support a team of office colleagues, warehouse staff and a driving workforce of 20+ drivers
Key Responsibilities
* Act as first-line operational lead for the site, supporting 10+ office/warehouse staff and 20+ drivers
* Ensure strict compliance with safe systems of work, SOPs and all legislative requirements
* Work collaboratively with the Transport Manager and wider team to drive performance
* Analyse operational data to identify improvements, cost savings and efficiencies
* Manage daily office operations, including task allocation and workload management
* Produce and maintain accurate driver rotas, ensuring fairness and minimum utilisation targets (45hrs/week)
* Maintain detailed records for rota management, charging, KPIs and reporting
* Compile UK-wide analysis, weekly operational reports and presentation packs
* Support and develop staff through coaching, training and wellbeing meetings
* Ensure customer service standards are consistently met and take proactive action on repeated issues
* Follow HR procedures, supporting welfare, performance and development conversations
* Communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams, drivers, customers and stakeholders
* Drive continuous improvement and manage change positively
* Ensure all audits reach 95%+ compliance
* Promote strong housekeeping standards (“clean-as-you-go” approach)
* Carry out any additional duties supporting the transport operation
Shift Pattern; Monday to Friday 12pm to 8pm
Experience & Qualifications Required
* Strong IT capability: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage challenges and develop effective recommendations
* People management experience
* Experience working in a fast-paced transport environment with 20+ drivers
* Able to manage own workload and work effectively as part of a team
