Senior Clinical Pharmacist – Band 8a - Location: Essex - Schedule: Monday to Friday 09:00 am – 17:15 pm - Start Date: ASAP - Contract Duration: Ongoing - Employment Type: Full Time, Onsite Only - Rate: £33 - £40/hour (dependant on experience) Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking senior clinical pharmacist to join this dedicated pharmacy team, providing expert clinical support across inpatient ward areas. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished pharmacists to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care, while also contributing to service development and clinical leadership within the department. Key Responsibilities: Provide ward-based clinical pharmacy services, ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines Undertake clinical screening of prescriptions, verifying appropriateness, interactions, and adherence to Trust and national guidelines Order and coordinate medications for patients, supporting timely and efficient discharge Deliver medicines reconciliation, review, and optimisation for a diverse range of patients Offer specialist advice to medical and nursing teams, supporting decision-making in complex clinical cases Supervise and mentor junior pharmacists, trainees, and technicians Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines, audits, and quality improvement projects Essential Requirements: GPHC Registration Previous experience in hospital pharmacy, including ward-based clinical work Confident working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Strong clinical judgement, communication and leadership skills Why Work With Us: Established expertise: Pertemps has roots dating back to 1961, combining decades of recruitment experience with a modern, agile approach to healthcare staffing.
