About the Role
Days of Working: Monday to Friday
Role Overview: The HCM Technical Analyst is responsible for the technical support, development, and maintenance of the organisation’s HCM systems. The role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, troubleshoot system issues, and implement new features or updates. This position is crucial in ensuring that the HCM systems function smoothly and meet the operational needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Functional
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the HCM systems (e.g., iTrent, Timegate, Eploy, Totara and others).
* Monitor and maintain performance, ensuring optimal functionality.
* Resolve system errors, issues, or inefficiencies, coordinating with internal teams or vendors if necessary.
* Manage system updates, patches, and upgrades to keep the system current.
Configuration and Customisation
* Configure modules and workflows to align with business needs.
* Customise features, fields and reports using HCM scripting languages.
* Support the design and build of custom integrations between the HCM systems and other business applications.
* Document all configurations and customisations.
Business Analysis and Process Optimisation
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand operational needs.
* Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
* Identify process improvement areas, recommending best practices.
* Ensure solutions align with overall business strategy.
Data Management and Reporting
* Maintain data integrity and accuracy within the HCM systems.
* Develop and generate custom reports and dashboards.
* Help improve data governance and quality.
Project Management and Implementation
* Lead or support smaller HCM projects, including new modules, migrations or upgrades.
* Work with project teams to deliver on time and within scope.
* Coordinate with third‑party vendors or consultants when required.
Security and Compliance
* Ensure HCM systems meet security policies and industry standards.
* Implement access control, roles and permissions.
* Maintain compliance with GDPR and audit requirements.
General
* Avoid conflicts of interest between personal interests and the group’s interests.
* Exercise independent judgment, reasonable care, skill and diligence.
* Act in good faith and promote long‑term success for the group.
* Adhere to the group’s policies on equality, diversity, information security, health and safety, and data protection.
* Support sustainability plans and carry out duties efficiently to minimise environmental impact.
Qualifications & Experience
Necessary
* Strong knowledge of HCM systems such as iTrent.
* Experience with HCM configuration, customisation and administration.
* Knowledge of database and workflow management.
* Familiarity with integration platforms and APIs for connecting HCM with other systems.
* Understanding of SaaS, COTS and cloud technologies.
Desirable
* Experience in a technical or analyst role in HCM.
* Experience in HCM implementations, upgrades or migrations.
