Job Description

Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Housing Management Officer for our client a government organisation in Southampton, England.

The successful post holder will provide an efficient, comprehensive, and caring tenancy and estate management service to all tenants and leaseholders without favour or bias.

This role is a temporary contract initially 3 months with the possibility to extend. This role is 1 day working at home and 4 days in the office a week.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

* To effectively manage issues of anti-social behaviour, taking action in line with the organisation’s policy and procedure, within timescale and in liaison with the safer Communities Team as required. This work can involve (this list is not exhaustive and is given as illustration purposes only):
* Casework (including feedback in relation to mediation assessment)
* Liaison with the Police and other relevant agencies
* Working with the Concierge Service
* Working with the Neighbourhood Wardens, linking with the Junior Neighbourhood Wardens activities aimed at reducing ASB
* Identification of residents who are vulnerable and working to set up appropriate support
* Service of NOSPs for ASB
* Completion of legal referrals
* Attendance at Court
* Deal with resident’s issues, assisting them in accordance with organisation policy.
* To be accountable to the Assistant District Housing Manager by participation in a team dedicated to the comprehensive and sensitive management of their patch.

* Be on the patch taking ownership, and understanding the tenant’s needs and their aspirations understanding the customer profile of the patch.
* To foster good landlord/tenant relationships and to ensure compliance by the City organisation and its tenants with the terms of the tenancy agreement.
* maintain accurate information on the organisation’s housing management system (in particular using customer services) on tenancy issues relating to individual properties/tenants, and using customer services as a tool for managing case work. To maintain other recording systems where the IT system is not relevant.
* Manage Introductory Tenancies (particularly in relation to ASB cases).
* Consider safeguarding issues at all times – if there are concerns regarding safeguarding of children then to refer directly to the MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub), if with Adults to the Adult Safeguarding Team.
* Maintain effective lines of communication with the relevant Income Officer for the patch to ensure that efficient visits are made to tenants in relation to tenancy and estates issues, and income services issues at the same time.
* Work effectively with outside staff, particularly Neighbourhood Wardens, Tower Block Wardens, Supported Housing Staff, Cleaners.

Personal Requirements:

* Standard DBS Required
* Excellent level of IT literacy to be able to use self-service, digital user platforms and applications and MS Office
* Understanding of equality issues and how they affect the workplace and individual behaviours.

Working Hours: 37hrs / Monday - Friday

Pay: £24.53 per hour

Please note this role is within the scope of IR35.
