Specialist Stroke Physiotherapist

To act as a specialist clinician within the Physiotherapy service, leading high‑quality care for stroke patients while shaping the future of the service. You will work closely with clinical leads to drive innovation, champion best practice, and embed evidence‑based rehabilitation approaches that deliver outstanding patient outcomes. This role includes a 7‑day service and contribution to the on‑call rota.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a specialist physiotherapist in the inpatient stroke team.
* Lead and deliver high‑quality stroke rehabilitation services.
* Collaborate with clinical leads to promote innovation and best practice.
* Participate in service improvement activities such as audits and quality reviews.
Qualifications / Training
* Registered with HCPC.
* Evidence of postgraduate training.
* Clinical educator training.
* Neurological manual handling skills.
* Willing and able to participate in a competency‑based training programme.
* Master’s degree level or equivalent.
* Member of a relevant professional body.
Knowledge, Experience & Expertise
* Recent experience in assessing, treating, and evaluating care in stroke rehabilitation or other long‑term neurological conditions.
* Strong clinical reasoning skills.
* Evidence of CPD, self‑directed learning, reflective practice.
* Awareness of relevant legislation, local and national initiatives.
* Understanding of clinical governance.
* Critical appraisal skills.Ability to maintain legible and accurate records.
* Teaching and presentation skills.
* Rotational experience in stroke rehabilitation.
* Experience developing others.
* Attendance at specialist interest groups.
* Experience contributing to service improvements such as audit and patient information.
* Experience in dealing with complaints.
* Experience supervising and training others.
* Carrying out PDRs.
* Manual handling facilitator.

Salary
£39,959 to £48,117 per annum, pro rata.
