Full Time, 12-month fixed-term contract

Main Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and hardworking talented individual who can regularly provide support and guidance to residents, ensuring that the property they reside in is safe and that the support enables the residents to move through our services into independent accommodation.

The support worker will be able to provide guidance, advice and where necessary signpost and assist the resident with day-to-day skills to motivate and encourage them, to reach their goals and where necessary utilising external agencies or other charities to support those goals where that is necessary.

You will work as part of a team responsible for the delivery of a high-quality service to all residents within the specified area or patch allocated and ensure properties in management are safe for residents to occupy.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for our residents and support them as they transition into and out of accommodation.

As a Support Worker, you’ll help residents go through their license agreement, clearly explaining house rules and the consequences of non-compliance. You’ll also assist with completing online housing benefit applications where applicable and ensure all documentation including signed agreements and ID is uploaded to our internal systems.

For every new resident, you’ll compile a personalised risk assessment and support plan, which you’ll review and update regularly. You’ll be responsible for maintaining up-to-date records, including housing benefit references, and conducting weekly support sessions to monitor each resident’s wellbeing.

Your role will also involve guiding residents to relevant local support services, helping them manage expectations around housing, and ensuring they meet their obligations relating to their service charges.

You will also be responsible for responding efficiently to any incidents of anti-social behaviour, taking appropriate action in line with CHA policies. Additionally, you’ll carry out regular health and safety checks across both individual properties and communal areas to ensure a safe living environment.

Notes of Importance -

While not essential, it is preferred for applicants to have experience in supporting residents through the move-on process. This includes helping individuals source alternative accommodation, liaising with housing options teams, working with other housing associations, and engaging with private letting agents to secure suitable housing solutions.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a valid driver’s licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.
