National Gas is the backbone of Britain\'s energy system. We are responsible for securing the UK\'s energy while leading the way to a net-zero future. As the operator of the national gas transmission network, we repair and maintain gas pipelines, delivering gas to power stations, industries and 23 million homes. We are pioneering new solutions like hydrogen transmission to decarbonise energy.
As a graduate joining National Gas, you will be in an inspiring environment where your work contributes to keeping the nation\'s energy secure today while building a more sustainable, net-zero energy system for tomorrow.
About The Role
On our Finance Graduate Scheme, you will gain experience in a variety of roles such as:
* Transactional Accounting
* Management Accounting and Reporting
* Operational Finance
* Providing direct support to Finance Business Partners
You may have an idea of which area of finance you would like to specialise in, or you may not. The graduate programme will help you realise your potential. You\'ll also work towards a recognised accounting qualification: you can choose to study either CIMA or ACCA, with study support.
Through working in Finance, you will have oversight of an interesting, regulated and growing business. We\'re looking for someone who wants to build their career with us and help transition Britain to clean energy. In return, we\'ll provide varied experiences, training and development to support your future Finance career.
This three-year programme will give you a solid foundation to build a career in Finance. With an accounting qualification, you\'ll be well-equipped to explore roles from operational finance and management accounting to more commercial areas like Finance Business Partnering or specialist fields such as Treasury and Tax.
About You
You\'ll need to be a good communicator and able to engage with people at every level. An interest in Finance and strong numerical ability are essential, but more important is your personability, passion and drive to succeed.
What You\'ll Need
You\'ll need a degree. It could be anything related to:
* Finance
* Accounting
* Mathematics
* Other subjects will be considered if you can demonstrate confidence working with numbers, data or related platforms (Excel, SPSS, etc)
A strong application will include a cover letter to help us understand why you\'re a great fit for the role. Include any other relevant experience or university modules.
Studies suggest that women apply only when they meet 100% of the criteria. If you resonate with our mission and the role excites you, we encourage you to apply.
The Essentials
Many positions are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. Eligibility for certain roles may be affected by place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
This is a 36-month fixed-term graduate programme. You must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the programme. We are unable to sponsor UK work permits for this graduate scheme because the role does not meet the skill level requirements for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route.
