We have an exciting vacancy within the Infrastructure PDP and are seeking an enthusiastic Engineering Manager to join our North, Scotland and Northern Ireland (NS&NI) practice based in our Glasgow office.

Your Role

* Responsible for authoring and maintaining a robust Design Management Plan, drawing contributions from discipline leads and governance processes. Contribute to the production and development of the Project Execution Plan.
* Ensure all discipline leads have contributed to the production and development of the project BIM Execution Plan and that an agreed platform for project collaboration is in place. Deliver the Basis of Design and ensure Technical Quality Assurance/Control processes are in place.
* Develop, manage and track the list of deliverables and create simple, effective technical delivery processes to improve the production of design deliverables to time/cost/quality.
* Work collaboratively with the Project Manager and discipline leads to communicate with client stakeholders where additional scope occurs. Be the first point of contact to coordinate the resolution of technical issues.
* Host stakeholder meetings to ensure full involvement in the designed process and that operational requirements are integrated. Lead and facilitate meeting actions and closeout.
* Lead, motivate and mentor the multi‑disciplinary design team and provide linkage between delivery teams. Ensure effective communication within the team using Teams, in‑person workshops and other appropriate methods.
* Liaise regularly with discipline leads to manage resources and coordinate with the Project Manager. Contribute to annual performance reviews for multi‑disciplinary staff.
* Contribute to identification of commercial and technical risks; ensure scope and level of design information is executed and programme milestones and model releases are agreed.
* Ensure commercial arrangements are coordinated with teams, documented and instructed; monitor resource requirements and maintain budget control for the designated part of the works.
* Actively seek additional workflows to increase revenue while collaborating with the Project Manager to ensure contract commercial coverage and programme adjustments are agreed before project start.
* Capture requirements and assess technical competencies with practice sign‑off. Ensure multi‑disciplinary compliance with the design brief and contribute to the designated part of the works.
* Apply and reinforce standard designs and products across the contracted scope and rigorously challenge the team to drive efficiency in design programmes.
* Lead multi‑disciplinary technical and CDM reviews, ensure coordination and consistency of output, deliver design reviews internally and to clients, and maintain configuration control over the project.

About You

* Chartered Engineer, Architect or equivalent with demonstrable experience managing design, build and/or operate commissions on multi‑disciplinary projects.
* Strong knowledge of system integration concepts, principles and theories as applied to multi‑disciplinary designs.

* Infrastructure sector experience delivering major projects and familiarity with NEC3 or NEC4 construction contracts.
* Self‑motivated, able to work independently and within a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Familiar with BIM and 3D modelling tools for design and coordination, and the associated information attributes managed within the model.
* Ability to recognise and adapt digital technologies to aid the design process; customer‑focused with excellent client relationship management skills.
* Hard‑working, flexible, team‑player, detail‑orientated, reliable, proactive and able to handle demanding deadlines.
* Strong leadership qualities and a supportive, encouraging approach to mentoring developing team members.
* Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written. Willingness to travel across the UK and work away from home on client sites if required.
