Cryptography SME
Whitehall Resources are looking for a Cryptography SME. This role is hybrid working with 2-3 days per week onsite in Warwickshire, and the remainder remote working, for an initial 6 month contract.

Job Description:
A Cryptography SME is a specialized role within a product team, typically focused on security and encryption. They are responsible for overseeing the development and strategy of cryptographic products or features, ensuring they align with customer needs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Your responsibilities:
* Product Vision and Roadmap
o Define the product vision and roadmap for cryptography-related products or features.
o Identify market needs, use cases, and emerging security trends to keep the product relevant.
* Collaboration with Engineering
o Work closely with cryptography engineers and security architects to ensure the technical feasibility of features.
o Facilitate agile development, prioritizing the backlog, and breaking down features into executable user stories.
* Compliance and Security Standards
o Ensure the product adheres to industry standards (eg, FIPS 140-2, PCI-DSS, GDPR).
o Stay updated on regulations, compliance requirements, and security threats.
* User Experience
o Focus on the usability of cryptographic features, ensuring they are understandable and accessible to end-users.
o Collect feedback to make encryption implementations practical without compromising security.
* Stakeholder Communication
o Act as the primary point of contact for cryptography-related features, communicating updates, timelines, and risk factors.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
* Cryptography Knowledge: Understanding of encryption algorithms, digital signatures, PKI, HSMs, key management, etc.
* Experience : Minimum 3-8 years of experience required in cryptography.
* Product Management Skills: Experience in agile product management, defining roadmaps, user stories, and prioritizing features.
* Compliance and Standards Familiarity: Knowledge of security standards and regulatory frameworks in various industries.
* Analytical Thinking: Ability to make data-driven decisions on prioritization and roadmap adjustments.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong communication skills for collaboration with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
