Based on continued positive growth in the business there is the requirement to create greater coverage in the sales management team.

To support this requirement, the existing sales manager will transition into a business development management role, whilst the new sales manager will come into the team and take on the responsibility below.

Both the business development manager and sales manager will work closely together to further grow the business.

Job Title: Sales Manager

Based at: Unit 1, Alan Alfred Avenue, Fenton, Stoke on Trent. ST4 2LY

Position Reports to: Managing Director

Job Purpose Summary:

Responsible for the management of the sales department within the business. Ensuring the implementation of the business sales strategy through the effective deployment of process, system and people. Being responsible for both commercial targets and customer satisfaction throughout the customer base.

Additionally responsible for the marketing team members within the business ensuring that the marketing strategy for the business is delivered.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Ø Implementing the company's sales strategy.

Ø Agreeing and delivering revenue targets for the company and key performance indicators for the sales team and ensuring that they are achieved.

Ø Implementing sales strategies and plans across the company and monitoring effectiveness.

Ø Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.

Ø Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives.

Ø Understand category-specific landscapes and trends.

Ø Oversee, implement and improve process, system and organisation plans to ensure achievement of the company strategy

Ø Implementing a variety of new business initiatives to drive sales.

Ø Meeting with the sales team members regularly to assess company performance against KPI's.

Ø Presenting sales results as required

Ø Speaking at conferences and events about the company's products and services.

Ø Keeping a close eye on the sales activities of competitors and utilising ideas where appropriate.

Ø Overseeing lifecycle management of all staff including recruitment, induction, training and performance management

Ø Working with members of the board on budgeting and planning.

Ø Implementing best practice in sales techniques and CRM throughout the function.

Dimensions/Scope of the Job:

Ø Customer base circa 5000 customers

Ø Supplier base circa 600 suppliers

Ø Core range of products ranging in price from £100 - £10,000

Ø Staff Management circa 5 employees

Personal Profile

Ø Previous experience working as a sales manager ideally for a similar organisation.

Ø Natural leader with an ability to inspire performance with sales teams.

Ø Strong commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial approach to business development.

Ø Formal sales training would be an advantage but not essential.

Ø Proven track record of achieving sales growth and delivery of results to business plans.

Personality:

Ø Self-driven, results-oriented with a proactive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit.

Ø Acts in a professional manner demonstrating and promoting the highest ethical standards.

Ø Acts to support the growth of the business in an affordable way focussed on both profit and business reputation.
