Job Description:
An exciting new role within our Property Function! Tesco is recruiting for a new Renewables Strategy Manager, who will join their energy team to play a critical role in shaping and supporting Tesco across a range of high-impact projects. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful implementation and integration of sophisticated sustainable energy solutions, contributing to accelerating our energy transition.
You will be responsible for:
1. Developing and supporting the approach to commercially scale renewable electricity, including technical considerations of deploying solar PV and other generation technologies, ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance.
2. Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.
3. Having a strong background in energy technology with a broad understanding of the UK energy market and policy landscape.
4. Acting as a technical SME for the energy transition with the latest industry insights.
5. Providing technical guidance, reviewing designs, specifications, and feasibility studies.
6. Assisting in procurement through bid evaluations and solution assessments.
7. Identifying and developing strategies for renewable electricity generation and BESS.
8. Developing key energy transition-related capital investment projects.
9. Ensuring projects deliver benefits on time and within budget.
10. Providing technical support, data, and commentary for reporting and communications.
11. Maintaining strategic focus and translating long-term outcomes into delivery plans.
12. Collaborating with key functions like Procurement, Engineering, Technology, Finance, and Treasury.
13. Supporting business planning for energy in annual and long-term plans.

You will need:
1. Experience in renewable electricity projects, contracting PPAs, and BESS.
2. Energy experience with major infrastructure at multi-site organizations.
3. Knowledge of solar PV design codes, certification, and regulations.
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
5. Degree or equivalent in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related).
