BMS require aTime-Served Painter with a background in Food Manufacturing Enviroment background with a distinct advantage. To carry out painting and maintenance of building fabrics across the food manufacturing site, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations. The role requires working at height and in sensitive production areas, maintaining hygiene and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform internal and external painting of building fabrics including walls, ceilings, doors, and structural elements.
* Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming as required.
* Use appropriate materials and techniques suitable for food-safe environments.
* Operate access equipment safely and efficiently (IPAF certification required).
* Conduct routine inspections and touch-ups to maintain site standards.
* Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams to minimize disruption.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
* Adhere to site hygiene, safety, and environmental policies.
Requirements:
* Time-served painter with proven experience in industrial or commercial environments.
* IPAF certification – essential for working at height.
* Knowledge of painting systems suitable for food-safe environments.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting & Decorating (desirable).
* Knowledge of various painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing methods.
* Experience working in occupied properties and managing customer expectations.
* Familiarity with COSHH and safe handling of materials.
Desirable:
* Experience in food manufacturing or similar regulated environments.
* Basic understanding of other building maintenance tasks (e.g., plastering, minor repairs).
