Overview
Specialist Podiatrist (Ref: 228760). Substantive, Full Time Post 37 hours per week. Can be offered as a development post. Band 6 or Band 5 (Annex 21 during development) with salary ranges as detailed below. Distant Island Allowance of £2,482 per annum. Relocation assistance of up to £8,000 available. Based at Lerwick Health Centre, with clinics at Gilbert Bain Hospital, other health centres, domiciliary visits and care homes. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the service area is essential.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Podiatrist to join our small rural team providing podiatric interventions to the population of Shetland.
Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate aspects of the Podiatry Service; deliver high-quality podiatric care in general podiatry.
* Work in specialist clinics, including MSK, diabetes and wound care, and rotational nail surgery clinics.
* Develop and implement service improvements; manage workload in a timely and efficient manner.
* Contribute to CPD and annual development activities; support service development and mentoring for less experienced staff.
* Travel within the service area to clinics, outreach sites and care homes as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Podiatrist able to work as part of a supportive team.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and patients.
* For recent graduates: opportunity for Band 5 with supervision and mentorship, with progression to Band 6 under Annex 21.
* Ability to organise workloads and prioritise effectively in a busy department.
