The company serves civil infrastructure, agriculture, and building sectors across the UK and Ireland, with a strong focus on customer service, product innovation, and continuous improvement. Purpose of the Role The Civils Estimator will work within the Civils Sales team to maximise sales opportunities by accurately preparing construction cost estimates, converting enquiries into secured projects, and supporting the company in achieving monthly KPIs. This role involves planning, development, negotiation, and award of projects, while maintaining strong client and contractor relationships. Key Responsibilities Price and secure projects within the civil engineering market. Complete and submit tender documentation. Accurately price customer enquiries, Bills of Quantities, and tenders from drawings and bar schedules within deadlines. Provide regular updates on current projects, order status, and tender activity. Negotiate and communicate effectively with clients and contractors to maintain and develop relationships. Attend and organise client meetings. Interpret technical information to provide practical and commercially viable solutions. Liaise with internal departments to ensure successful project delivery within customer requirements, budget, and programme. Assist in resolving technical queries where required. Represent the company at trade shows and client visits as necessary. Carry out other duties as reasonably required by the line manager. Essential Criteria Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction, or equivalent relevant experience. Proven experience in estimating within the civils sector. Strong ability to interpret drawings and engineering information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and influencing. Strong project management experience from tender stage to delivery. Proven ability to exceed business objectives and customer expectations. High level of planning and organisational skills. Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages. Flexibility to meet business needs, including client visits and industry events. Desirable Criteria 35 years experience in a relevant discipline. Experience in a busy office environment. Track record of achieving KPIs and targets. Knowledge of precast concrete product design, manufacture, and application. Experience with CRM systems. Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Full current driving licence.
