Randstad, on behalf of a national developer specializing in later living/care homes, is recruiting an experienced Planner to join their technical/development team. Position: Planner
Location: Leeds
Salary: GBP competitive
Responsibilities:
* Assist in developing the Strategic Land Strategy by advising on regional requirements, planning policy amendments, and housing needs in target areas.
* Undertake site visits to understand site characteristics and local context.
* Prepare planning and viability appraisals for site assessment and potential acquisition.
* Support the selection of consultants for land investigation, promotion, and acquisition.
* Lead efforts to ensure site deliverability, including land assembly and collaboration with other developers.
* Prepare and submit bid proposals, negotiate legal agreements, and manage obligation discharge.
* Coordinate development briefs and vision documents from concept through feasibility stages.
* Negotiate legal agreements, monitor project performance, and communicate with agents and landowners.
* Participate in meetings with project teams, stakeholders, consultants, landowners, and regional authorities.
* Attend planning committee, cabinet meetings, or other relevant engagements.
* Ensure all site assessments, negotiations, and stakeholder engagements comply with governance and statutory requirements.
Skills and Requirements:
* Experience in planning within construction, consultancy, land promotion, or local authority sectors.
* A degree accredited by RTPI or equivalent in planning or a related built environment field.
* Strong problem-solving, research, and analytical skills.
* A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a positive attitude.
* Willingness to travel across various sites in Yorkshire.
