Techmunity are hiring a Tech Lead for one of London’s most ambitious seed-stage startups, who're on the verge of a Series A raise.
The founders are repeat operators, backed by strong early-stage investors, and already working with customers like Canva, ElasticSearch and Pigment.
They’re building an orchestration engine designed for AI from the ground up. It generates and adapts content, campaigns and workflows in real time, delivering personalised digital experiences for millions of end users across multiple channels.
As Tech Lead, you’ll guide the design and delivery of the platform’s core systems while staying hands-on with code. You’ll work closely with the founders and senior engineers, helping the team make good technical decisions and keeping the system fast, reliable and simple to reason about.
Around 70–80% of your time is building; the rest is mentoring, reviewing proposals and unblocking the team.
You’ll take on challenges like:
• Scaling real-time event ingestion to millions of requests per second
• Building production LLM pipelines, retrieval layers and content-generation systems
• Designing privacy-first behavioural analytics and attribution
• Optimising distributed systems for performance, cost and reliability
Tech stack includes:
Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript
Backend: Golang, Python, Kafka, Redis, BigQuery, Postgres
Infra: AWS, Vercel, Pulumi, GitHub Actions
A note on Go experience
Go experience is ideal but not required. If you’ve built distributed systems at scale in a strongly typed, compiled language - Rust, Kotlin, Java, Scala, C++, or similar - you’ll ramp up quickly here.
What matters is your judgement around system design, concurrency, reliability and performance.
Who this suits
• Comfortable owning architecture while staying close to day-to-day coding
• Enjoys mentoring engineers, but doesn’t want a management-heavy role
• Thrives in startups where decisions are fast and product context is clear
• Strong instincts around system design and making trade-offs cleanly
Ways of working
Hybrid: the team works from their Central London office three days per week.
Compensation
£110–140K + equity
