We're looking for exceptional people to join our amazing National Careers Service Team, as either a trainee or a qualified Careers Adviser.
We're seeking individuals who enjoy helping people. You may come from a sales, teaching, or recruitment background or have experience in delivering careers advice. An engaging personality and a can-do attitude are essential to provide a warm and welcoming experience for our customers, and to seek solutions that help our customers progress their careers.
You need to be flexible, as every day is different in the National Careers Service. As a Careers Adviser, you'll make our customers feel welcome and comfortable. You should be able to engage with customers from diverse backgrounds, hold 1:1 appointments, and conduct group workshops in various settings, including careers fairs, community venues, and pop-up events. Organizational skills for managing your diary and completing admin tasks, along with confidence in IT for delivery and admin, are required. The role is targeted to meet specific performance goals set with our commissioners.
Your skills will empower and encourage customers to develop career action plans, support their learning and development, and monitor their progress to build confidence as they prepare to start work or learning.
We provide on-the-job training and support to achieve your Level 4 Certificate in Careers Information and Guidance if you do not already hold this qualification.
