Our client, a well-established setting in Bellshill, is recruiting for a qualified Early Years Practitioner.
* Responsible to: Nursery Principal and Head of Centre
* Purpose of post: To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
* Plan, deliver, and evaluate an appropriate learning environment.
* Work as part of a team within the playroom and nursery.
* Implement the daily routine and demonstrate resilience for challenging behaviors, applying early intervention when needed.
* Communicate effectively with parents and maintain up-to-date knowledge of childcare developments.
* Complete all nursery paperwork neatly and professionally.
* Maintain appropriate behaviors and serve as a positive role model.
* Promote and safeguard children's welfare at all times.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Update children's learning journals weekly, including planning and observations.
2. Keep accurate achievement records, identifying individual needs and progress.
3. Plan activities supporting children's learning aligned with relevant curricula.
4. Stay informed about child development and early years sector practices.
5. Partner with families and communicate effectively to support children's growth.
6. Work with children, parents, and other agencies to support transitions and inclusion.
7. Maintain confidentiality and share relevant information appropriately.
8. Take leadership in areas such as numeracy, literacy, or health and wellbeing.
9. Participate in out-of-hours activities like training and events.
10. Be flexible and assist with nursery tasks, including domestic duties.
11. Ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed and practices are current.
12. Develop professionally within the team and uphold nursery standards.
13. Create a high-quality environment respecting cultural and developmental differences.
14. Represent the nursery professionally in meetings and community activities.
15. Perform other reasonable duties as required by management.
