Job Summary
Bishops Eye Cafe is seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to oversee our kitchen and cafe operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills and a passion for food preparation, cafe management, and hospitality. You will be responsible for managing a team of kitchen staff while assisting the cafe manager in daily operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and production, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Your leadership will be vital in maintaining an efficient and harmonious cafe environment.
Responsibilities
* Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food preparation meets quality standards.
* Manage and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
* Oversee food safety practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
* Coordinate food production schedules to meet service demands efficiently.
* Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients where possible.
* Maintain inventory levels of food supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
* Taking responsibility for dealing with all the external suppliers and finding new suppliers to minimise the cost
* Coordinating with Head Office with regards to providing all invoices and delivery notes and completing the End of the Day and Weekly reports
* Managing staff rotas effectively on Workforce rota system, verifying and approving the worked hours.
* Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and cafe at all times.
* Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any concerns or feedback promptly.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a supervisory role within a kitchen environment is essential.
* Strong culinary skills with experience in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
* Background in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable.
* Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
* Previous experience in hotel or barista roles is an advantage but not mandatory.
Pay: £12.21-£12.60 per hour
