Restaurant Manager - Dartington
Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 per year (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, permanent
Days off: Monday & Tuesday (set days off – may vary for events)
A thriving gastro pub and restaurant known for fresh, seasonal menus, warm hospitality, and a relaxed yet refined approach to dining. We're now seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to lead our front-of-house team and ensure every guest enjoys a memorable experience — from laid-back lunches to elegant weddings and events.
About the role
You'll oversee all aspects of the restaurant's daily operations, working closely with the Head Chef and management team to maintain smooth service, high standards, and a welcoming atmosphere. The role blends hands-on leadership with organisation and guest engagement — ideal for someone who thrives in a busy, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional service
* Manage day-to-day floor operations, reservations, and event coordination
* Work alongside the kitchen team to ensure seamless service and communication
* Recruit, train, and develop FOH staff
* Oversee stock, cash handling, and service procedures
* Maintain a professional and positive presence throughout service
* Contribute ideas for continual improvements to both guest experience and efficiency
We're looking for:
* Minimum 2–3 years' management or senior supervisory experience in hospitality
* A genuine passion for guest service and team development
* Strong organisational and leadership skills
* Confidence in handling busy services, events, and functions
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and communication
