Multi-Skilled Line Engineer Location: Middlewich Pay Rate: £23.04 per hour Shifts: 4 on, 4 off (06:00–18:00 / 18:00–06:00) Are you a multi-skilled engineer with experience in fast-paced manufacturing? We’re looking for a Line Engineer to join the team in Middlewich. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a continental shift pattern and play a key role in keeping our production lines running smoothly. About the Role As a Line Engineer, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team responsible for maintenance, breakdown response, and continuous improvement in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. You’ll ensure production assets are reliable, efficient, and compliant—while also supporting operations with line cover when required. What you’ll do: * Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and record on CMMS (Shire) * Monitor line performance and drive efficiency improvements * Provide first-line support to auxiliary equipment (boilers, HVAC, etc.) * Support installation and decommissioning of machinery * Diagnose and resolve faults across electrical and mechanical systems * Ensure compliance with health & safety and GMP standards * Participate in continuous improvement projects and operational support * Coach and train colleagues as part of a lean production team What We’re Looking For * Time-served Engineering Apprentice with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) * Multi-skilled engineer (mechanical and/or electrical) * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills * Computer literate with good communication skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure * Flexible and comfortable covering operational roles when required Desirable: * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations * FMCG or regulated environment experience What’s On Offer * Pay rate: £23.04 per hour * Continental shifts: 4 on, 4 off (days & nights) * Average 42-hour working week * Pension, paid holidays, sick pay scheme, and other company benefits * Training and development opportunities
