EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Waste OCC is responsible for managing the control centre teams for reactive and planned activities on the wastewater networks for infra and non-infra. This includes the tanker and logistics plans, incident response, pollution reporting and alarm handling. You will be working as part of a wider team of network control teams that manage ST’s network 24/7.
We have an exciting brand new role within the Waste OCC team called a waste tactical controller (Also known as Environmental Incident Advisor)!
Within this role you will be responsible for driving the improvement of our waste field incident response, reviewing all burst rising main, pollution and flooding events.
This role also supports seasonal planning activities for the waste business areas, making sure all teams are prepped for winter and storm seasons. You will also expect to be involved in incident management, owning workstreams within waste water events.
Finally, please note, this role will be Monday to Friday and will support standby requirement where required.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
Your Key Accountabilities in this role include:
* You will be required to complete and chair post incident reviews for all waste burst rising main events, understanding timelines and key improvement activities, as well as, tracking improvement activities across all responsible business areas, aiming to respond quicker, more effectively, and reduce cost (eg. tankering, TMA).
* You will get to develop MI to share across business area to track improvements through to completion.
* You will build and maintain strong relationships, for example working closely with COSC to develop opportunities for better response and prioritisation.
* You’ll review response to pollution and flooding events, understanding key learnings to embed into BAU, along with, Quantifying pollution, flooding and environmental risks and put appropriate plans in place to mitigate.
* You will work with the OCC SME’s to ensure that all data on asset performance is correct, visible to the teams that use the data & provides insight to our reporting to the business – videowall, Daily Reports, Operating rhythm packs etc.
* Finally you’ll Lead the development of knowledge capture systems to support consistency in operational decision making.
* Please note, the role will be required to support incident and event management and if successful your role title will be Waste Tactical Controller
