Role Purpose
Provide leadership and management of multidisciplinary engineering teams in the delivery of Aquila’s major projects or workstreams. Responsible for the provision of electrical engineering elements associated with successful delivery of machine design and build projects through the design process from concept to manufacture, testing and handover. Manage design output of Aquila’s sub‑contractors, from concept to validation for electrical elements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Progress the technical delivery of electrical elements of engineering projects, aligning with the Technical Manager, Project Engineering Manager and Project Manager.
* Support Project Managers to ensure outsourced EC&I design meets requirements.
* Ensure EC&I project scope is satisfied efficiently and effectively.
* Adhere strictly to customer specifications and standards for EC&I.
* Work with design engineers to ensure designs are fit for purpose and integrate electrical and control requirements.
* Peer review sub‑contractor drawings and documentation against project specifications.
* Develop and maintain relationships with clients and suppliers, including assessment and integration of new EC&I subcontractors.
* Witness factory acceptance tests and sign off projects.
* Support scheduling and tasking information to the Project Engineering Manager and Project Manager.
* Analyse technical tender specifications and produce tender technical aspects and estimates.
* Peer review concept designs, 3D CAD schemes, detailed manufacturing drawings and design substantiation by calculations.
* Assist in the development of engineering resources, internships and apprenticeship programmes.
* Perform general clerical and administrative duties to support the Engineering Department.
* Handle any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.
* Apply GDPR/data protection legislation procedures in a highly regulated environment.
* Support business change via effective change management processes in Aquila’s fast‑paced regulatory environment.
* Demonstrate commitment to health and safety; ensure all statutory obligations are met and safety standards align with UK and European regulations.
Eligibility Criteria
* Current valid right to work in the UK.
* Good standard of written and spoken English.
Qualifications
* HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* BEng/MSc in Electrical Engineering.
* Professional registration (EngTech, IEng or CEng).
* Experience in nuclear or highly regulated industry.
* Security clearance (DV/SC).
